Romanticism
It was an artistic and literary movement that originated in Europe in the late 18th century. It was most easily portrayed in the visual arts, music and literature. This movement opened the doors to works that portrayed fear or joy and brought about emotions. Romanticism was not only used in paintings, it was also a form of writing that brought up the same emotions. Romanticism stressed the openness of emotions. Such writers as Pushkin and Turgenev convey elements of romanticism in their stories "Onegin" and First Love."
The Overcoat: What is important to me.....
After reading "The Overcoat" by Gogol, i was faced with the question what could I truly not live without. What object, or ability do I have, that if I lost it, I would also lose my will to live? Many things come to mind, but only picking one to write about is difficult. One of my most precious possessions is my phone. It allows me to stay in contact with family and friends and I can also get homework and assignments off of it. If i was to have my phone taken away after all the money spent on it initially, and its operating costs, that would greatly affect me. Also not being able to contact anyone would take a huge toll on me.
